Okay, I had to do some research. According to the Telegraph, this was taken in Fuxian. The ones in Yunnan are actually the Sumatra bamboo rat which are bigger than this one! Either way...pretty freaky & if they start selling them in the market here, I don't know what I'll do...
Believe it Charlie. These really do exist. This one's from Yunan Province in China. He has 1" long teeth and is straight out of the Fire Swamp.

It's called a bamboo rat. I guess there's a species of African forest rat that's BIGGER. Apparently, the Chinese EAT these suckers in some places.

As long as the ONLY time you see them, they're dead, well okay (I guess). But can you imagine seeing one of those ALIVE? Goodness...nightmarish.
